Craft

Block printing is an age-old craft where hand-carved wooden blocks are dipped in dye and stamped onto fabric. Each block is meticulously chiseled with motifs, florals, paisleys, geometric then pressed repeatedly to form patterns that stretch seamlessly across the saree.

Hand-painting is a free-flowing art form where the saree itself becomes a canvas. Artisans paint directly onto the fabric using brushes and natural or fabric dyes, creating motifs that are alive with individuality. Unlike printed or woven designs, hand-painting carries the spontaneity of the artist’s vision, each stroke, each detail, unique and unrepeatable.
